ORIGIN STORY
I BUILT ONE FIRST
Omnisight: a Windows desktop agent manager that drove Claude Code inside WSL. Every agent on one screen, one click into its real terminal.
Building it is how I found everyone else solving the same problem. This talk is the tour.
omnisight.flintsparklabs.com · MIT · live demo Fridays at noon
LEVEL 1
THE PROBLEM
One agent was a pair programmer. Twelve agents is a management job.
- Claude in one terminal, Codex in another, a dev server in a third
- Windows stacked on windows across three workspaces
- Which one is waiting on me?
- Which branch is it on? Did it finish an hour ago?
- Close the laptop and the whole session dies
TMUX 101
The terminal multiplexer. Around since 2007, still the backbone.
- session → windows → panes, all in one terminal
- Runs as a server: detach, close the terminal, attach later. Work keeps going
- Survives SSH drops, so agents can run on a box all night
- Fully scriptable. Anything can type into any pane. Remember that.
tmux new -s work # start a session ctrl+b % / ctrl+b " # split panes ctrl+b d # detach tmux attach -t work # come back
TMUX ISN'T ENOUGH
tmux keeps the terminals alive. It has no idea what's running in them.
- No "this agent is blocked on a question" signal
- No idea of git worktrees, branches or diffs
- No single view across machines
- You still poll every pane by eye
That gap is what an ADE fills.
LEVEL 2
WHAT'S AN ADE?
An Agentic Development Environment is built around agents first, editor second.
- ISOLATION: each task in its own worktree or container
- STATUS: working, blocked, idle, at a glance
- REVIEW: diffs in, merge the winner
- PERSISTENCE: walk away, come back, still running
- ORCHESTRATION: agents can drive other agents
BOSS 1
HERDR 🐑
- One Rust binary, no Electron. Runs in the terminal you already use
- Doesn't wrap your agents. It owns their terminals
- Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, Grok and the rest
working blocked idle
WHY HERDR
- Detach without stopping work. A background server keeps panes running
- Never hunt for the stuck one. Every pane is marked working, blocked or idle
- Several machines, one window. Local and SSH boxes in one agent list
- Agent-native. Agents spawn panes, prompt each other and wait on each other over a CLI and socket API
- Plugins. A marketplace for panes and workflows
- tmux-style prefix keys and click, drag, split

▶ QUICK DEMO
HERDR IN ACTION
sudo pacman -S herdr # or SUPER+CTRL+ENTER on Omarchy herdr # start where the work lives ctrl+b q # detach, agents keep going herdr # reattach
Detach, close the laptop, come back: every agent is right where you left it.
BOSS 2
ORCA
- Fan one prompt across Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Pi
- Each attempt in its own git worktree. Compare, merge the winner
- Terminals, diffs, embedded browser and a CLI in one app. Phone app too

BOSS 3
ANTIGRAVITY
- Google's agent-first IDE. VS Code fork, launched Nov 2025 with Gemini 3
- Agent Manager: a mission-control view, not a chat sidebar
- Agents drive a built-in Chromium to test live UIs
- 2.0 (I/O, May 2026): standalone desktop app for parallel agents and scheduled background tasks
SIDE BY SIDE
| HERDR | ORCA | ANTIGRAVITY | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lives in | your terminal | its own app | its own IDE |
| Agents | any CLI agent | Claude, Codex, OpenCode, Pi+ | Gemini first |
| Superpower | persistence + status | fan out, pick a winner | mission control + browser |
| Remote | SSH machines | remote machines | Google cloud |
| License | Apache-2.0 | MIT | proprietary |
Pick by where you already live: terminal, app or IDE.
SHOUTOUTS
SUPERSET
A terminal app for 10+ parallel CLI agents. A worktree per task, status sidebar, chimes when one needs you, built-in diffs. YC. Getting a new name soon.
superset.sh
SCULPTOR
From Imbue. Every agent in its own container, so no merge fights and no reinstalling deps. Pairing Mode syncs an agent's work into your IDE. Mac and Linux.

SECRET LEVEL
AGENTS HIRING AGENTS
Most people don't know this: you can just ask.
"Claude, make me a tool that starts another Claude in a new tmux window with a task, and one that sends it a message."
tmux new-window -d -n scout 'claude "map the auth module"' tmux send-keys -t scout -l "now write tests"; tmux send-keys -t scout Enter tmux capture-pane -p -t scout | tail -20
Three tmux commands: spawn, talk, read. Put them in a skill or CLAUDE.md and every agent can delegate. herdr ships this built in.
ALWAYS-ON ORCHESTRATOR
- A Claude Code session that never closes, in a tmux session named orchestrator
- Autostarted at login in its own window
- It doesn't write much code. It dispatches: spawns workers, messages them, checks on them
- Same spawn / talk / read tools from the last slide
- And you can talk to it…
FINAL BOSS
OMARCHY
"A beautiful, fun & agentic Linux distribution" by DHH. Arch + Hyprland + one QML shell.
Everything you just saw runs on it. Let's play.
"HEY JARVIS"
- openWakeWord listens to the mic through PipeWire, 80ms at a time
- Click → record until 2 seconds of quiet → chime
- voxtype transcribes it locally with Whisper
- Drop Whisper ghosts like "thanks for watching"
- tmux send-keys types it into the orchestrator, only if Claude is running there
- Claude answers through a speak MCP tool → Kokoro-82M voice
- Every line goes to SQLite → the Voice widget on the Omarchy bar
~200 lines of Python. Right Ctrl = push-to-talk dictation anywhere.
▶ LIVE ON OMARCHY
THE GAME PLAN
- PLUGINS: the bar I actually work from
- KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS: never touch the mouse
- AN AGENT BUILDS AN APP: live, right now, with you
- THE PLUGIN STORE: grab your own
HOW IT WORKS
WHAT IS QML?
QML is Qt's language for UIs: a tree of elements with properties, plus bits of JavaScript. Bindings keep it live: change a value and everything using it redraws.
import QtQuick
Text {
property int days: 27
text: "NEXT MEETUP IN " + days + " DAYS"
color: "#ffc93c"
}
Omarchy 4 runs the whole desktop in one Quickshell process. The bar, panels, menus and overlays are all QML plugins. Small, declarative, instant feedback: perfect for agents to write.
HOW IT WORKS
CUSTOMIZING OMARCHY
- Themes: SUPER+CTRL+T, one click recolors everything
- Hyprland: windows, keys and autostart in Lua under ~/.config/hypr/
- Plugins: a folder in ~/.config/omarchy/plugins/<id>/ with a manifest.json and some QML
- Hooks: scripts that run after updates
- And the cheat code: ask Claude. Omarchy ships its own agent docs and skills.
STAGE 1

STAGE 3 · ▶ LIVE BUILD
AN AGENT BUILDS AN APP
A bar widget that counts down to the next Dirty South AI meetup. Built live, with Claude.
"Make an Omarchy bar-widget plugin that counts down to the next Dirty South AI meetup. Click it to open a panel with the date and RSVP link."
- Claude writes manifest.json + BarWidget.qml
- omarchy plugin validate the folder
- omarchy plugin enable and watch it land on the bar
STAGE 4
THE PLUGIN STORE
Bar widgets, panels and overlays are just QML in a folder. Everything on my bar today is a plugin.
omarchy plugin add <git-url> --enable
